Our Story

Chef and Owner Christo Panagiotakopoulos invites you to join him at one of Phoenix’s longest standing family-owned Italian restaurants. Since opening our doors in 1986, we have prided ourselves on providing our customers with an unforgettable dining experience.

Christo’s Ristorante boasts an atmosphere that is elegant and romantic, yet simple and relaxing. Our History

Circa 1977

Christo moves to Washington, D.C. from Athens, Greece to play soccer and attend college. While in school, he begins working in kitchens while studying electrical engineering at George Washington University, beginning his love affair with restaurants.

Circa 1980

Christo moves to Arizona to study at Arizona State University. His interest in restaurants continues to grow while he works at the Orangerie at the Arizona Biltmore and at Victor’s.

1982

Connie and Christo get married and begin working towards their dream of opening their own restaurant.

1987

Christo’s Ristorante officially opens and begins serving its signature Northern Italian and Continental Cuisine.

1994

Alexi’s Grill, Christo’s second restaurant, named after the family’s second oldest son, opens on Central Avenue.

2010

The restaurant is remodeled for the first time since opening.

2012

Christo’s celebrates it’s 25 year anniversary!
